Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with supportive primary and secondary schools across Wales to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisors. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, support continuity of learning, and make a real impact within Welsh-medium education.
About the Role
As a Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisor, you will:
• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and a focused learning environment
• Support pupils’ learning and engagement across a range of subjects
• Communicate confidently in Welsh within Welsh-medium and bilingual settings
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, candidates must have:
• Fluent Welsh language skills (essential)
• Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
• Strong classroom presence and confidence managing groups
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register
Desirable:
• Experience within Welsh-medium education
• A proactive and adaptable approach to classroom support
• Interest in progressing into teacher training or a PGCE

• Successful completion of a 12-week / 60 paid day employment trial period
