Elementa are the recruiting partner for this special school based in Swindon. The school provides education for learners with a broad spectrum of SEND across several sites. The predominant needs of the learners includes ASD/ASC (Autism), SEMH and other complex needs. Learners often display challenging behaviours. This truly is a rewarding place to work. Applicants with Team Teach training or other positive behaviour management training may be at an advantage however free training will be provided for the successful applicant. This event is specifically to appoint for teaching roles and the school will consider qualified, highly experienced unqualified and cover supervisors.
The following vacancies are open:
- Science Teacher
- Maths Teacher
- English Teacher
- General Teacher
These vacancies will be permanent depending on experience or long-term temp. The vacancies are offered across the schools' different sites. During the day, after a meet & greet, there will be a chance for the 'right-fit' candidates to visit the other sites.
For permanent roles these vacancies will be the following salaries MPS/UPS pay scales and all teachers are entitled to a SEN allowance. For the right fit a TLR may also be awarded
The full day-agenda is yet to be finalised but will look something like:
- 9am arrival
- Meet and greet with the Head of Service and & HR Lead to discuss the provision and the roles
- The Head will then meet candidates individually to have a more in-depth discussion and decide on 'right-fit'
- The Head and HR Lead will then meet to discuss and will then send candidates off to the sites that would most fit the candidate
- During the site visits you will meet with Heads of Centres and have a tour, a chance to meet children and talk with them
- Lunch at around 12 with the children on the chosen sites
- Regroup at 1pm – this will be a chance for candidates to decide if they want to continue
- Then feedback sessions and discuss next steps
For any candidates that are suitable for a permanent opportunity the school will then arrange a formal interview the following week
Long-term temp placements will then also be booked
This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates to come and visit and see what the school offers students and colleagues. The school are open to the background of teachers; for example they have had PE teachers with the ability to teach maths working as a maths teacher.
