Are you passionate about promoting the Welsh language and inspiring young people through engaging and high-quality teaching? Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Welsh to join their supportive and forward-thinking secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing pupils’ confidence, fluency, and appreciation of Welsh language and culture.
As a Teacher of Welsh, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Welsh language lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable where applicable)
- Foster a love for the Welsh language, literature, and culture
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress effectively
- Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
- Support pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a fluent Welsh speaker (essential)
- Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Has experience teaching Welsh in a secondary school setting
- Is passionate about promoting Welsh language and culture
- Has strong classroom management and communication skills
- Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school
