Elementa is recruiting for a Teacher of Science for this popular Secondary School on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare, close to Junction 21 of the M5. The school describes itself as a "fully inclusive secondary school dedicated to serving our children, our families and our local community". The school has been working hard on its long-term development plan and to highlight areas of improvement and implement these to achieve future success.
This school is looking for a permanent placement for this role, however, the likelihood is that this would be an initial 12-week contract via agency before moving to a permanent contract.
The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to deliver engaging and comprehensive Science lessons that contribute to the educational success of students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons across different disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and contribute to a vibrant school community.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments within the Science curriculum and implement innovative teaching strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Demonstrable experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
- A strong background in Science subjects, with the ability to teach Physics, Chemistry, and Biology effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for inspiring students.
