Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking Welsh-medium secondary school in Cardiff to recruit a dedicated Teacher of Music & Drama to cover a maternity leave starting in the summer term. This is an exciting opportunity to teach the performing arts within a vibrant Welsh-medium learning environment where creativity and culture are celebrated.
Fluent Welsh language skills are essential, as all teaching and communication within the school is delivered through Welsh.
About the Role
As a Teacher of Music & Drama, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging Music and Drama lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales

Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable where applicable)

Encourage creativity, performance skills, and collaborative learning
-
Support pupils in developing confidence through practical and expressive arts activities
-
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
-
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times

Contribute to school performances, productions, and wider cultural activities
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, candidates must have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
-
Fluent Welsh language skills (spoken and written)
-
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
-
Experience teaching Music and/or Drama at secondary level (including placements)
-
Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire student participation
Desirable:
-
Experience teaching both Music and Drama
-
Experience teaching KS5 Performing Arts
-
Involvement in school productions, ensembles, or extracurricular performing arts activities
-
A reflective and adaptable teaching approach
