About the Role
As a Teacher of ALN, you will:
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of learners with Additional Learning Needs
• Adapt your teaching strategies to ensure every learner can access, enjoy, and succeed in their education
• Build positive relationships that develop confidence, resilience, and independence
• Assess, monitor, and celebrate student progress while adapting learning where needed
• Work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for learners
• Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment where every student feels valued and supported
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times
• Play an active role within the wider school or alternative provision community
What We're Looking For
To be considered, you'll need:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
• Experience working with learners with Additional Learning Needs (experience in ALN schools or alternative provision is highly desirable)
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
You'll really stand out if you also have:
• Experience working across KS3 and KS4 or within specialist ALN settings
• A creative and flexible approach to planning and delivering personalised learning
• A genuine passion for helping every learner succeed, no matter their starting point

All applications will be managed by Elementa Support Services as the recruitment partner for this client. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, and every successful applicant will complete a thorough pre-employment screening process to ensure their suitability for working with children.
Any appointment will be subject to:
• A successful interview process
• Satisfactory references
• Safeguarding & Prevent training
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration in the appropriate categories
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20 unless subscribed to the Update Service)
• Successful completion of a 12-week / 60 paid day employment trial period
