This role is to work as a Speech & Language Therapist (SALT) with children aged across the Early Years, Primary & Secondary phases with ASD & SEMH. This is a permanent job opportunity to start ASAP which will be full time or potentially 4 days per week (days worked TBC.) Initially, the contract would be through Elementa Education for an interim trial period of 12 weeks. Subject to the satisfactory completion of this trial, the successful post holder would then be offered a direct contract with the school.
This job role will be to work at a special school based in Bristol. This school enjoys modern teaching facilities and has enjoyed a rapid turnaround led by their enthusiastic and very active headteacher. The head has implemented a scheme of positive behaviour strategies, resulting in a massive reduction in student behaviour incidents, almost eliminating physical interventions and vastly improving staff attendance as a result. Building on this the school employ a restorative approach with students & parents to resolve issues and treat incidents as learning opportunities. Applicants with Team Teach training may be at an advantage however free training will be provided for the successful applicant. The school operate on a transparent and collaborative basis across departments and between staff & senior leadership team. This role will be run through Elementa Education. All candidates working through Elementa are expected to engage with their respective role as if employed permanently from the outset. You will need to attend any required meetings & training sessions.
