Elementa have been appointed to manage the Learning Support Assistant talent pool for this special school & PRU based in Swindon; which will include temporary, contract & permanent opportunities. The school provides education for learners that have ASD/ASC (Autism), SEMH and other complex needs; often display challenging behaviours. The school have chosen to take this very different recruitment approach to build consistency of staffing approach and familiarity for their learners. Equally they feel that supply work can be a rewarding experience for LSAs choosing this path.
This truly is a rewarding place to work. Despite the challenges their learners face the school have high expectations of their learners and nurture and support the learners. The recently appointed headteacher is continuing the long-standing approach to offer outstanding opportunities for the learners, but also maintaining a highly positive, friendly & welcoming work environment for colleagues.
Applicants with Team Teach training or other positive behaviour management training may be at an advantage however free training will be provided for the successful applicant. The school operate on a transparent and collaborative basis between staff & senior leadership team. Applicants should have good previous SEND experience and knowledge, particularly in SEMH and ASD/ASC, and how to adapt the education approach to ensure that high-quality learning still takes place despite not being a permanent team member (temporary working.) You would still be very much treated as a valuable part of the team.

Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability as supply staff to the school. Elementa are not a supply agency, we are a school services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage the candidate vetting & compliance and process your payroll on behalf of the school. Organising supply opportunities at the school would be done in direct communication with the relevant school colleague organising the supply cover. Therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (£52) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.
