Never 'standing still', recently the school have implemented changes which have been very positively received by staff & students alike. They have a brand new innovative curriculum, have updated their learning environments and have a policy of zero exclusions. This has already had a positive impact reflected in increased attendance, improved positive behaviour and improved staff:student relationships.
This post for SEND Teacher will involve working with some of the most challenging teenage learners. Students at this school have often missed large parts of standard education so a focus on learning as well as social development will be a key part of this role. Ideally the school would like a qualified teacher, able to deliver all core subjects (English, Maths & Science) up to Key Stage 4 level. However the school are interested in any subject teaching specialism and the added ability to cover more than one subject will always be of interest. It's more about your previous teaching experience being relevant to the working environment and students that the school are interested in.
As an employer, this AEP & PRU offers one of the most supportive and progressive environments possible for both learners and staff colleagues. Mental health is a key focus for the school and you will have weekly 1:1 & coaching session with your line manager, weekly counselling & support sessions and other well-being benefits. This staff team work hard to ensure they provide the best opportunities for their learners, but they know they can only achieve that through a strong collaborative team.
