Elementa is recruiting for a SEND Primary Teacher with a strong background in supporting children with additional needs. The role is based at a re-engagement nurture-based provision for pupils aged 5-11 years, who struggle with social-emotional mental health (SEMH), and who find attending mainstream education a challenge. This role can be very challenging, as the children may have other additional needs, such as ADHD and Autism. You will need to be experienced in supporting children with a variety of needs, have strong behaviour and classroom management skills, and have experience in delivering the national curriculum, including literacy, numeracy and science.
Whilst this may be a challenging role, it can also be very rewarding, seeing the children develop and progress with the right support in place. As a SEND Primary Teacher, you will be leading a class of around 6 learners, with the additional support of HLTA's and Learning Mentors, providing engaging and insightful lessons, tailored to the needs of the class, and approaching it in a way that the children will be able to understand and therefore succeed.
If you think you have the qualities and experience to be a SEND Primary Teacher, please apply today by clicking the link.
A DBS subscribed to the update service would be an advantage for this position, to allow for a quick start. Applications without a DBS on the update service will be considered, however, processing a new DBS can take time and may delay the start time.
