Elementa are recruiting a Science Teacher for this secondary school based on the East side of Bristol. The school have long enjoyed a good reputation for their standards of pupil behaviour and attainment as well as local (technical) enterprise engagement. In the last few years, as part of a multi-academy trust, they have enhanced their student offering. The school is graded Good by Ofsted and they have long held a positive reputation as one of Bristols leading secondary academies. If you want to be part of a team that has aspirations to improve their student offering & Ofsted assessment to outstanding, this is a great opportunity for you.
This a fixed-term role for terms 1&2. Marking & planning is required. You'll be teaching the full age range of KS3&4 classes (yrs7-11), including exam classes, albeit that there are no exams in terms 1 or 2. It's still TBC regarding the responsibility for a tutor group, but if so it would likely be a year 10 tutor group.
Someone who has ideas to bring to the team and is wiling and eager to demonstrate their initiative will do well and may even be considered for a permanent job opportunity at the school. You'll have, or have aspirations to, deliver outstanding teaching & learning and enjoy working with students that respond well to the investment the teachers make in them. You'll have lots of colleague support & mentoring to enable you to teach to the standards set by this well respected school. The role is open to both ECTs and FQTs.
Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability for the school. Elementa are not a supply agency, we are a schools services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage the candidate vetting & compliance and process your payroll on behalf of the school whilst on trial contract. The school will engage the successful candidate on trial contract through Elementa (12 week / 60 day contract, paid to scale from the outset) to assess suitability and confirm the intention of engagement on permanent contract. Therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £49.60) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.
If you have the relevant skills and experience necessary for this role then please apply with your full up to date CV. All applicants will be promptly responded to.
