About the role
Elementa Wales is seeking a qualified science teacher who can make scientific ideas practical, clear and engaging to work with schools across Newport. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while enjoying flexible work.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality science lessons, supporting safe practical work and monitoring pupil progress, ensuring pupils receive high-quality learning and support.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
- Lead safe, purposeful practical activities and reinforce laboratory expectations.
- Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Manage classroom behaviour and collaborate with the wider science department.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong science subject knowledge and experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
- Effective classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, flexible and professional approach.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching more than one science discipline or supporting examination classes. (beneficial but not essential).
