Elementa are recruiting for an RS Teacher for this well-performing and popular secondary school based in Highbridge. The school has long enjoyed a strong reputation for both pupil behaviour and academic attainment. They share a Sixth Form with a local partner school, an area currently being enhanced as part of the school's wider growth and development plans.
In March 2023, the school was reaffirmed as Good by Ofsted, a judgement it has consistently maintained for many years. If you are looking to join a school that values consistency, high standards, and continual improvement, this is an excellent opportunity. Standards of behaviour and achievement across the school are notably strong.
The successful candidate will teach Religious Studies and Sociology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for additional responsibilities depending on experience and aspirations. Following a successful initial period, the role may become permanent.
This position would suit a passionate and reflective teacher who is keen to inspire students to explore different beliefs, cultures, ethical viewpoints, and social issues. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or a more experienced practitioner, you'll be encouraged to bring fresh ideas to the department and contribute positively to the school's continued success.
You will benefit from strong colleague support, mentoring, and access to high-quality CPD, enabling you to further develop your teaching practice and career progression. The school is open to considering candidates at all stages of their teaching journey, including those seeking future leadership opportunities.
The school is committed to investing in its staff and proudly offers:
- Commitment to CPD and development of all staff, including collaborative support and instructional coaching to allow teachers to thrive.
- A clear curriculum vision and focus on evidence-based practice.
- A commitment to inclusivity and fostering diversity.
- Values and vision that are lived, not laminated.
- A supportive Humanities department where Religious Studies and Sociology are valued subjects, providing opportunities to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful discussion about the world around us.
Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability for the school. Elementa are not a supply agency, we are a schools services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage the candidate vetting & compliance and process your payroll on behalf of the school whilst on trial contract. It's likely that the school will engage the successful candidate on trial contract through Elementa (12-week / 60 day contract, paid to scale from the outset) to assess suitability and then confirm the intention of engagement regarding a permanent contract. Therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for a DBS Enhanced Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £51.20) unless you have a current DBS subscribed to the update service.
