We are inviting applications from a Learning Support Assistant with previous experience of having supported learners that have ASD. You'll be working at this village primary school on an outreach basis for our locally based client that is an Alternative Provision. The Alternative Provision is currently at capacity and not currently accepting any further referrals. They are however providing outreach support for children that have additional learning needs who are still based at their primary school. This particular role will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child that has Autism. The child does not display any severe behaviour issues.
This role will be initially for a 1-year contract however because of the main Alternative Provisions' ongoing expansion, there's a strong possibility of being offered a full-time or part-time, permanent opportunity in the future. Specifically for this role, as a person, you'll need to be confident in working autonomously, following guidance regarding individualised learning tasks & activities and also providing ongoing feedback reports.
The Alternative Provisions' ongoing expansion is thanks to continued successful outcomes for their pupils. This Alternative Provision serves primary aged pupils only. People who get on well at the main site generally have experience of working with children that have SEMH and display challenging behaviour and other areas of SEND. If you have already had training in positive behaviour management (such as Team Teach) and/or THRIVE training we would be very interested in hearing from you. If you have practical experience of working with children displaying challenging behaviour and are successful in your application for this post, Team Teach training will be offered free of charge.
Elementa is the recruiting partner therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.
If you have the relevant skills and experience necessary for this role then please apply with your full up to date CV. All applicants will be promptly responded to.
