Elementa Support Services is looking for enthusiastic and nurturing Nursery Assistants to work across welcoming nursery and Early Years settings throughout Vale of Glamorgan.
From messy play and story time to helping children develop their first friendships, communication skills and independence, you'll be supporting young learners at one of the most important stages of their development.

About the Role
As a Nursery Assistant, you'll:
• Support children with play-based learning and Early Years activities
• Help create a fun, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can thrive
• Encourage children's communication, confidence, independence and social development
• Support individuals and small groups with age-appropriate activities
• Get involved with everything from creative play and stories to outdoor learning and messy activities
• Help maintain routines around meals, snacks, toileting and personal care where required
• Build positive, caring relationships with children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
• Work closely with Nursery Practitioners, teachers and other Early Years professionals
• Support children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) where required
• Put children's safety, wellbeing and safeguarding at the heart of everything you do
You'll need plenty of energy, patience and enthusiasm – and you should be prepared to spend a lot of your day at the same height as the children!
Who We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from people who:
• Have experience working with babies, toddlers or young children in a nursery, Early Years, childcare or similar setting
• Are warm, patient, enthusiastic and genuinely enjoy working with children
• Can build positive relationships and help young children feel safe and confident
• Are reliable, flexible and professional
• Understand the importance of safeguarding and children's wellbeing
• Are comfortable supporting children's personal care where required
• Can work effectively as part of a busy Early Years team
• Hold a relevant childcare or Early Years qualification – desirable, although requirements may vary depending on the placement

Essential Requirements
Depending on the nursery or education setting, successful applicants will be required to complete Elementa's full compliance and safeguarding process.
This will include:
• Holding a current Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service, or being willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS through Elementa
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration in the appropriate category where the placement requires it
• Providing satisfactory professional references
• Completing required safeguarding and compliance checks
• Having the right to work in the UK
• Demonstrating a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
