Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 + TLR 2 BB - £8,020
Elementa Support Services is seeking a proactive and experienced Head of Modern Foreign Languages to join a dedicated school in Weston-Super-Mare. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader with a strong background in French and Spanish to shape and develop a vibrant language department.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in language education, with leadership experience as a Deputy Head of Department or Head of Department, along with excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the MFL department across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Oversee curriculum planning and development for French and Spanish, ensuring alignment with school goals and national standards.
- Provide strong leadership and support to language teachers, fostering continuous improvement and professional development.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to maximise achievement.
- Maintain efficient administrative processes within the department to support smooth operation.
Candidate profile:
- Qualified Teacher with QTS/QTLS status.
- Substantial experience teaching French and Spanish at secondary level.
- Leadership experience within a school language department, ideally as Deputy or Head of Department.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage curriculum and assessment effectively.
- Inspirational leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team of language teachers.
As the Curriculum leader of Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish). You will lead our department across Key Stages 3 and 4, overseeing the curriculum, teaching, and assessment strategies to ensure high standards of student achievement. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and support a team of dedicated teachers
