Elementa is working in partnership with a specialist SEND education provider in Dorking, Surrey, supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. All students have an EHCP, primarily relating to SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and many may present with challenging behaviour.
The school takes a holistic, therapeutic and creative approach to education, with a strong focus on helping pupils re-engage with learning, build confidence, and develop the life skills needed to achieve their full potential. The aim is to support students either back into mainstream education or towards positive long-term outcomes beyond school.

The Role
The successful candidate will teach Maths and English to KS2 and lower KS3 pupils on a 1:1, 2:1 or small-group basis. Students require a personalised and flexible approach to learning, with teaching tailored to meet a range of academic, emotional and social needs.
As a teacher, responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Assessing and recording student progress
- Supporting students’ emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Producing reports and contributing to EHCP reviews where required
- Working collaboratively with pastoral and therapeutic staff
- Building positive and consistent relationships with students
Experience with positive behaviour support strategies, de-escalation techniques, or Team Teach training would be advantageous. Full Team Teach training can be provided for the successful applicant.
