Elementa are supporting this PRU to appoint an experienced (qualified) teacher to work in their secondary aged setting as a Key Stage 3 SEND Teacher.
This is an amazing organisation that work ethically, with a progressive and collaborative ethos and strong links with local schools. Their collaborative outreach work with local schools offers upskilling to mainstream school practitioners with the ultimate aim of avoiding students being referred into their service. The outgoing teacher has been successful in securing a post offering career progression and the school are supportive of the move however looking to replace the person with another outstanding SEND Teacher.
The right person should have experience extensive of working with students that have SEMH and display challenging behaviours and ideally of having used the THRIVE approach. This job role will be working at a specialist setting which provides education for children from KS2 - KS4 across several sites however the role will delivering to secondary aged children.
Naturally, working at a specialist setting for SEMH will involve working with the more challenging learners so resilience, a sense of humour, empathy and the desire to motivate education professionals and learners whatever their background or ability will be key to being successful in this role.
