Interim Deputy Headteacher - Harrow

Interim Deputy Headteacher

Location - Harrow

Hours - TBC

Salary - TBC (Dependant on Experience)

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Interim Deputy Headteacher to provide strong operational leadership within our Pupil Referral Unit during a period of transition. The successful candidate will bring significant experience in PRUs, alternative provision or SEMH settings, and will be able to step confidently into a fast-paced role where stability, consistency and clear direction are essential.

Working alongside the Interim Headteacher, you will take a lead role in strengthening behaviour and attendance, embedding trauma-informed and relational practice, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across the unit. You will provide day-to-day leadership for staff, support the coordination of safeguarding, and ensure that systems, routines and expectations are implemented with rigour.

This role requires a calm, resilient and solution-focused leader who can build trust quickly, communicate effectively, and support staff through change. You will work closely with families and external agencies to ensure pupils with complex needs receive the support they require to re-engage with learning and make progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and skilled leader to make an immediate impact, providing stability and operational strength while contributing to the longer-term development of the PRU.
