As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers, supporting pupils to achieve their potential while developing the practical skills, confidence and knowledge that teacher training providers and schools are looking for.

About the Role
Every day is different, but you could be:
• Supporting teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
• Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils to improve learning outcomes
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and engagement
• Supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and helping them overcome barriers to learning
• Promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, supportive learning environment
• Assisting with classroom activities, resources and day-to-day school life
• Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers and parents
• Gaining first-hand experience of how successful schools operate
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for graduates who are:
• Degree qualified (or due to graduate shortly) in any subject
• Passionate about education and supporting young people
• Considering a future career in teaching or education
• Friendly, patient and approachable
• Confident communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
• Reliable, adaptable and eager to learn
• Able to build positive relationships with children and young people
Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential. Your enthusiasm, professionalism and willingness to learn are just as important.

Essential Requirements
To work in schools across Wales, successful applicants must:
• Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) in the appropriate category as a School Learning Support Worker (Elementa can support you through the registration process)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Elementa
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
