About the role

Finished university and looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference while building valuable experience?

Elementa Wales is looking for bright, enthusiastic and proactive graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in schools across Cardiff.

Whether you're considering teacher training, educational psychology, counselling, social work, SEN/ALN or another career working with children and young people, this is an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience within a school environment.

You'll work alongside teachers and school staff to support pupils with their learning, confidence and development – both in the classroom and through individual or small-group support.

Key responsibilities

· Support pupils with their learning in the classroom.
· Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
· Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and build their confidence.
· Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation.
· Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation.
· Adapt your approach to suit individual pupils and their needs.
· Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
· Work collaboratively with teachers, ALN teams and wider school staff.

Requirements

· A degree in any subject area.
· A genuine interest in supporting children and young people.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Patience, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
· A positive, flexible and professional approach.
· EWC registration, or willingness to register.
· Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application.

Desirable:

· Ability to speak Welsh – beneficial but not essential.
· Previous experience working with children or young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering, youth work or similar settings.
· Experience or an interest in supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
· An interest in progressing into teaching or another education-related profession.

Why work with Elementa?

· Build valuable experience working directly with children and young people.
· Gain an insight into teaching, ALN and wider education careers.
· Flexible opportunities to suit your availability.
· Competitive daily rates.
· Opportunities across Cardiff and surrounding areas.
· Access to ongoing professional development.
· Friendly and supportive recruitment team.

Your degree might be finished, but your next chapter is just getting started. If you're enthusiastic, approachable and ready to make a difference in the classroom, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and take your first step towards a rewarding career in education with Elementa Wales!
