About the role
Elementa Wales is seeking a confident and reliable cover supervisor who can maintain purposeful learning to work with schools across Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while enjoying flexible work.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence, delivering prepared work and maintaining a calm, focused classroom environment, ensuring pupils receive high-quality learning and support.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise classes and deliver work prepared by the absent teacher.
- Give clear instructions and keep pupils focused on the set learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Record attendance, report concerns and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary setting.
- Confidence leading a classroom and following prepared lesson materials.
- Strong behaviour management, communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, flexible and professional approach.
Desirable:
- A relevant degree, school-based experience
- Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales. (beneficial but not essential).
