Salary - £168.80 - £230.45 (MPS + UPS)
Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher with experience supporting learners with additional needs? Our client, a reputable Academy-SEND educational provider, is seeking a qualified Food Technology Teacher to join their team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent role.

- Organisation Size: 66–250 employees, committed to providing outstanding support and education for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Condition (ASD/ASC)
Candidate Profile:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience delivering Food Technology lessons across a range of abilities and key stages
- Demonstrable experience supporting learners with ASD/ASC or additional needs (desirable)
- Passionate about developing practical life skills, healthy eating habits, and learner independence
- Strong behaviour management and classroom engagement skills
- Excellent communication and team-working abilities
- Commitment to high standards of care and educational development
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging Food Technology lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Adapt practical cooking and food preparation activities to ensure accessibility and participation for all pupils
- Teach key topics including food preparation, nutrition, food safety, and healthy living
- Promote confidence, independence, and creativity through practical learning experiences
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and personal development within a structured learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and therapists to support pupil progress and behaviour
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching strategies as required
- Prepare and manage resources, ingredients, and equipment effectively to support practical lessons

This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.
