The school are recruiting for an inspiring and able English Teacher to deliver teaching & learning across Key stages 3&4 to join the team initially on a fixed-term contract basis. This is to add extra capacity to the English team and release the 'Head of Core' to other duties. All of the schemes of work and lesson plans are already prepared. The role will involve planning (adapting), teaching & assessment as well as attending meetings and any other responsibilities of an employed teaching colleague. This role is intended to run for the full academic year 2024/2025 and may transfer to permanent contract with the school from September 2025.
Although the school are seeking a teacher that holds UK QTS, has UK teaching experience and good curriculum knowledge, they can also consider an applicant that has previous experience of delivering UK National curriculum at a UK school but doesn't hold UK QTS. Applicants with this background would need to be willing to gain QTS via the Assessment Only (AO) route.
To be considered for the AO route the following criteria need to be fulfilled:
- Immediately available
- Residing in the UK (Exeter area or able to reside in the area)
- Has Right to Work in the UK without requiring employer sponsorship
- previous experience of teaching UK curriculum
- able to work full-time
- willingness to gain QTS via the Assessment Only (AO) route.
The school will follow a selection process which includes delivering an observed lesson, meeting the team, meeting students and a colleague interview as well as a show around the school with the headteacher. The successful candidate will be engaged on a trial period of 60 days and then on satisfactory completion, transfer o to permanent contract. The successful candidate will be paid at scale rate from the start of the trial period.
