Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Digital Code / AI Tutor to join a well-established Academy-SEND in Dorking, Surrey. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in a specialised educational environment.

About the Role

As a Contract Digital Code / AI Tutor, you will work within a supportive team to deliver engaging and accessible digital learning experiences for pupils with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your role will involve using technology, coding, and AI-based tools to inspire learners, build digital skills, and support both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver personalised digital learning sessions, including coding and AI-based activities, tailored to SEMH pupils’ needs
  • Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment that supports focus and emotional regulation
  • Use technology to enhance learning, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Work closely with school staff and external professionals to support pupils’ well-being and progress
  • Monitor and record pupil engagement, progress, and behaviour
  • Promote positive digital literacy, confidence, and independence in learners

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a qualified tutor, teacher, or experienced digital educator with a strong background in coding, computing, or AI-related learning. Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience delivering coding, computing, or digital skills (e.g. Scratch, Python, basic AI tools)
  • Demonstrate a patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
  • Possess strong behaviour management and engagement strategies
  • Be passionate about using technology to support and inspire learners
  • Show a genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ emotional and personal development

About the Organisation

This Academy-SEND setting employs between 36 and 65 staff and specialises in providing educational support tailored to students with SEND, particularly SEMH needs. They are dedicated to creating a compassionate and empowering environment where learners can develop resilience, confidence, and independence.

 

Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability for the school. Elementa are not a supply agency, we are a schools services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage the candidate vetting & compliance and process your payroll on behalf of the school whilst on trial contract. It's likely that the school will engage the successful candidate on trial contract through Elementa (60 day contract, paid to scale from the outset) to assess suitability and confirm the intention of engagement on permanent contract. Therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.

  • Weekly pay – no waiting for monthly payroll cut off dates, Elementa pays one week in lieu.
  • PAYE contract – unless a candidate specifically requests it, all candidates are paid via PAYE giving them the protections and payment structure of a traditional employer:employee relationship.

  • Fair pay policy – our candidates are paid to scale, where a variation on this may be required written agreement will be provided ahead of the position.
