Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools to recruit enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisors. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom, support students’ learning, and develop essential skills within a structured and rewarding school environment.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a focused learning environment
• Support students in completing set work and maintaining engagement
• Respond to questions and provide basic guidance where appropriate
• Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and health & safety
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, candidates must have:
• Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, or similar)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom setting
• A proactive, adaptable, and professional approach
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register
Desirable:
• Previous experience in a school setting
• A degree or relevant qualification
• An interest in pursuing a career in teaching

• Successful completion of a 12-week / 60 paid day employment trial period
