Elementa Support Services is partnering with welcoming Welsh-medium secondary schools across South Wales to find enthusiastic Cover Supervisors who are ready to support pupils, maintain excellent learning environments, and make a real difference every day.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same, but you'll be:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons through the medium of Welsh when teachers are absent

• Managing classrooms confidently to ensure pupils remain engaged and on task

• Supporting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment

• Providing guidance and encouragement to individuals and small groups where needed

• Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils' progress and wellbeing

• Upholding safeguarding procedures and promoting high expectations across the school

• Becoming a valued member of the wider school community

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

• Fluency in spoken and written Welsh – this is essential

• Experience working with children or young people in a school, sports, youth work or similar setting

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

• Confidence leading a class independently using pre-prepared lesson plans

• A calm, organised and professional approach

• Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or be willing to obtain it

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (we can help)

Bonus points if you have:

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or Teacher

• Experience working in Welsh-medium education

• A degree or aspirations to train as a teacher

• Experience supporting pupils with ALN/Additional Learning Needs

• A flexible, proactive attitude and a great sense of teamwork
