About the role
Elementa Wales is seeking a fluent Welsh speaker with the confidence to lead classes and maintain purposeful learning to work with schools across Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while enjoying flexible work.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising classes through Welsh and English during teacher absence, delivering prepared work and maintaining a calm classroom environment, ensuring pupils receive high-quality learning and support.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise classes and deliver prepared work through Welsh and English.
- Give clear instructions and keep pupils focused on the set learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Record attendance, report concerns and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Requirements
- Fluency in spoken Welsh and confidence communicating in an educational setting.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary setting.
- Strong behaviour management, communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, flexible and professional approach.
Desirable:
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate subscribed to the DBS Update Service
- Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales. (beneficial but not essential).
