Assistant Principal - Harrow

Assistant Principal

Location: Harrow

Hours: Full time

Type: Temporary - Permanent

start date: 01/09/2026

Pay: £266.67 - £307.69 (Per day during trial)

Our client is a successful and ambitious secondary-age SEND setting in Harrow, dedicated to providing a high-quality, inclusive education that enables every young person to achieve their full potential. Elementa is supporting the setting in recruiting an exceptional Assistant Principal – Curriculum to join its experienced and committed senior leadership team.

This is a key strategic leadership role, with responsibility for leading and driving the curriculum across the setting. Working closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure the curriculum is ambitious, engaging and appropriately adapted to meet the diverse needs of learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will play a pivotal role in shaping curriculum design, monitoring its implementation and ensuring it supports outstanding teaching, learning and positive outcomes for every student.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for curriculum development, assessment and quality assurance, working alongside subject leaders and teaching staff to embed best practice across the setting. You will champion an inclusive approach to education, ensuring that curriculum pathways are meaningful, personalised and prepare students for adulthood, independence and future success.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly supportive leadership team within a nurturing and aspirational SEND environment. The setting is committed to continuous improvement, invests heavily in staff development and provides excellent opportunities for professional growth. You will work alongside dedicated colleagues who are passionate about making a lasting difference to the lives of young people with additional needs.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior or middle leader with a strong background in curriculum leadership and a passion for inclusive education. Experience within SEND or specialist education would be advantageous, although applications from exceptional leaders with a strong understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive practice are welcomed.

Elementa will manage all applications and undertake the initial screening, suitability assessment and compliance process on behalf of the setting. We are not a supply agency; we are a specialist education recruitment partner working directly with schools and specialist provisions. An Enhanced DBS Disclosure will be required for the successful applicant unless you hold a current DBS certificate registered with the Update Service.

If you have the leadership experience, strategic vision and commitment to developing an outstanding curriculum for young people with SEND, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with your up-to-date CV.

All applications will be acknowledged promptly.

If you would like to find out more about this opportunity or discuss your suitability for the role, please get in touch with the Elementa team.

Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability for the school. Elementa are not a supply agency, we are a schools services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage the candidate vetting & compliance and process your payroll on behalf of the school whilst on trial contract. Therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £52) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.

If you have the relevant skills and experience necessary for this role then please apply with your full up to date CV. All applicants will be promptly responded to.
