1:1 English & Maths Tutor - SEND, SEMH, Anxiety
Type: Fixed-term Contract
hours: Tuesdays (ideally morning)

Salary: £18 - £30 per hour
This role will be to provide support to an learners that have SEND relating to SEMH & anxiety. The learners are working towards GCSE qualifications. The learning will be delivered off-site in a community-based / Library setting and is an in-person tutoring role (not remote.) The requested day / time is:
- Tuesdays - ideally morning (possibly flexible times)
- 2 hour sessions
The role of the tutor would be to assess the needs of the student, preparing appropriately engaging tasks specific to the student, delivering the learning and reviewing the work completed in line with the curriculum. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of having worked with a learners that have additional needs, particularly SEMH, anxiety or trauma and a good understanding of how to provide appropriate support and meet the needs of the learner. Whilst you don't need to be a qualified teacher (with UK QTS) you should have significant & relevant previous experience in education and capacity to confidently deliver English & Maths.
To be eligible for any of the tutoring roles you must currently be resident in the UK, have Right To Work without requiring employer sponsorship, be able to meet & work face to face if required in the Taunton area.
For this role you do not need to be a qualified teacher however you must:
- good subject knowledge for Maths & English
- experience of delivering 1:1 learning or have previous experience of leading learning sessions (preparing, delivering, assessing)
- be flexible with your hours of availability
- be willing to respond to the needs of the child
- be confident in re-engaging learners with educational activities
- be empathetic to the needs of the learner; emotional and practical

Tutoring roles are offered on an open-ended or fixed-term contract basis. The continuation of all tutoring roles depend heavily on the learner:tutor relationship.
